C017890 U.S. M1 COMBAT HELMET.
Very nice example of a complete U.S. Army steel combat helmet as issued and worn late in WW2 circa November-December 1944 onwards. Almost 100% original OD paint on steel shell. Bar-tacked khaki chinstraps on swivel bales with a rear seam to the helmet rim all indicate a 1944-period helmet. High pressure Westinghouse liner retains 90 percent of its paint with some typical scuffing and light wear marks with the khaki webbing of the WW2 helmet. Complete with leather chinstrap for liner with green OD paint on its hardware, marked "DOT" indicating WW2 manufacture. Soldier’s name "Lloyd Garity" or "Lloyd Garily" painted on inside. Nice complete original example in excellent condition. Possibly researchable.
