C017194 U.S. M1918 GRENADE VEST. 

An M1918 grenade vest featuring two rows of identical patch pockets, six along the top and five to the bottom, each with scalloped fold over flaps with snap button closures, all mounted on a 45cm x 28cm base. Each of the pockets would have originally held one Mills bomb. 120cm x 2cm tie tapes extend from each corner of the base and a 5cm wide over the shoulder strap with a blackened brass sliding adjustment buckle extends from each side of the top. Maker marked and dated for 1918.
