C016695 R.A.F. BATTLEDRESS GROUPING.

An unlined, air force blue wool tunic, with four of the original five button single breasted fly front closure and a lay down collar with dual hooks and eyes at the throat. There are two pleated patch breast pockets, whose scalloped flaps have hidden button closures. The outside seam slashes at the pleated cuffs also have hidden button closures. All of the buttons appear to retain their original stitching. An integral belt, with a metal buckle and vertical retaining loop on its opposite side, is to the waist band. Several pleats are above the reverse waistband. To the interior is sewn a white tag that denotes the size as No. 5 with height, breast and waist measurements, the manufacture name, date of 1944, and a broad arrow. Included is a pair of battledress trousers with a four button French fly with the additional buttons to the waist missing. The trousers bear a white tag as well that shows the size as No. 7, with height, waist and seat measurements, the manufacture name, date of 1944 and a broad arrow. The grouping shows obvious wear.
