C016591 BRITISH/CANADIAN "Named" VICTORY MEDAL 1914.
BACKGROUND: The Victory Medal or Allied Medal has a basic design and ribbon that was adopted by the Allied Nations and issued to those who had received the 1914 Star, the 1914-1915 Star or the British War Medal. It was never awarded on it’s own.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A die struck copper medal with a bronze finish measures approximately 37mm in diameter featuring the figure of Victory with her left arm extended while holding a palm branch in the other. The reverse has the inscription "The Great War for Civilization 1914-1919." The ribbon has a rainbow washed design that blends from purple to blues, greens, yellows and oranges out. There is no pin backing present. The inscription to the rim reads " W.T. TEL W.A. WOODHOUSE R.N.R."
