BACKGROUND: Badges, both official and unofficial were awarded to soldiers after completion of training and qualification courses. Tradesman badges were generally worn on the right forearm while Skill at Arms badges were worn on the left forearm.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: An oval, khaki felt badge, about 6cm x 5cm with a white embroidered, old English script, "MG" above a light brown and white machine embroidered laurel wreath. The reverse has a cloth backing material.
