C013093 43RD CAMERONS M1913 SEVEN BUTTON TUNIC.
A khaki wool, M1913 Service Dress Jacket with a 7, 18mm diameter, brass button front that leads to a short, stand up collar with a pair of hooks and corresponding eyelets. The cloth shoulder straps are permanently sewn into the shoulder seams and are secured by 18mm brass buttons. Each collar point bears a brass "43rd Camerons" collar badge that are affixed by lugs and cotter pin. Each shoulder strap bears an arched, brass "Canada" shoulder tile with "43rd" badges being removed as can be seen by small holes. Formation badges to each sleeve represent the 43rd Battalion, 3rd Canadian Division (look to be original stitching). The tunic may have had Sergeants stripes further up the arms (proper placement) but I can’t say for certain. It appears trade badge that was present and has been removed.
Each sleeve utilizes "Lancer" style cuffs with a vertical point that did not open. Other insignia includes three good conduct chevrons to the left sleeve that represents 12 years of service and two blue overseas service chevrons to right sleeve indicating between one and two years overseas service. All brass buttons are the Canadian General Service buttons. two blue overseas service chevrons to right sleeve indicating between one and two years overseas service.
