C012892 WWI BRITISH/CANADIAN SERVICE CHEVRON.

Instituted in 1918, but not issued until 1919, blue chevrons were issued to represent overseas service that were to be worn on the lower right forearm, showing one year service for each chevron. A red chevron represented 1914, while the blue represented every year after (1915-1919). A blue enamel and brass chevron measuring approximately 5.5cm long with a pair of prongs with cotter pin and brass backing plate.
