C012571 POST WAR THE CANADIAN SCOTTISH REGIMENT 2ND BATTALION BERET. A single piece khaki-colored wool beret, the lower part which is bound in blackened leather trough which runs a tape that is used to adjust the size. The tape has been tied in a knot and tucked in with no ends visible. The interior is lined with black cotton and features a, gold stamped, double boarder diamond, inside which is marked "Grand’ Mere Knitting Company Limited", Beret 1946", "Size 7 1/2". A "C - broad arrow" can be seen stamped on the diamond. To the right hand side above the leather binding are two vent holes with grommets that are reinforced to the inside by a rectangular piece of leather. To the front is a Royal Canadian Artillery cap badge on a Hunting Stewart section of tartan. The Second Battalion of the Canadian Scottish Regiment was re-designated as artillery 1946-1948. The cap shows moth tracking and holes, but overall remains a nice example.
