C011857 BRITISH FIELD HOWITZER, TOY.  

An olive-drab scale model of a field howitzer. The howitzer is a type of artillery piece that typically had a relatively short barrel and was used to propel shells at trajectories with a steep angle of decent. It is made from cast alloy, about 5 1/8" long by 2 " high, with treaded rubber tires, embossed on the sides with "Britains Ltd England", on alloy rims. The movable barrel has an adjustment rod with a round furled adjustment nut. It has a spring loaded firing mechanism with a release trigger that is fully functional. Embossed to the underside of the tow end of the gun carriage is "Britains Ltd Made In England". The tip of the barrel and the release trigger are painted silver. The paint is almost fully retained with some chipping to the edges.
