C011093 U.S. M1910 HAVERSACK & MEAT CAN POUCH WITH M10 CARTRIDGE BELT & SUSPENDERS.
The M1910 Haversack (or Doughboy pack) made of a khaki webbing with blackened brass that folds out into three main sections. To the bottom, essential items such as rations, condiment can, bacon can, clean socks, towel and washing kit were placed where it was then folded into the main section of the sack that has three straps and buckles to secure these items. To the bottom of this section are eight "button holes" where a carrier pack would be attached by a piece of leather. The interior is stamped "R.I.A. 1918". Double stitched to the reverse are shoulder straps that attach to a belt by blackened brass spring clip. Buckles are present to adjust for length. The empty "meat can" pouch, attached to the outer flap of the haversack, has an artillery badge affixed to the front. This is all attached to a M10 cartridge belt 95cm or 37.5" long. The belt 82cm or 32.5" long and is marked "Patent Mills July 16 ‘07, May 18, ‘15." to each of the crimped, brass ends of the webbed extension. Webbed suspenders attach both items. One of the spring clips is incomplete and does not stay in place when hooked.
