


















C008995 WW2 POLISH FIELD UNIFORM GROUPING.
This group consists of a “czapka”, M1936 great coat, tunic, breeches, belt and leg wraps.
1. The flat topped, square shaped “czapka” bears a spread eagle clutching an amazon shield that is bent to take the shape of the corner. An adjustable, black leather chin strap is held in place via a pair of buttons, that sits above the stiff, black laquer visor. The visor has a crack to the center of the peak. A brown cloth sweatband is to the interior. The interior is lined, but no markings are present. The cap measures approximately 53.
2. The greatcoat is of brown/khaki wool with a six button front that leads to a hook and eyelet at the neck opening. A pair of integral, button shoulders straps are to each side fo the collar. Button slash pockets are to each side of the greatcoat that allow access to the uniform. A pair of button tabs are also present to each side seam that allows for the sword belt. The interior is partially lined in a coarse/linen that bears inkstamps. The chest measures approximately 40"
3. The tunic of brown/khaki wool bears a seven button front, button flap breast and hip pockets (one hip pocket is missing a button), and integral button shoulder straps with replaced buttons. A small silver loop is to the right wearing shoulder strap. One of the cuffs is missing it’s button. The tunic is fully lined with a breast pocket. The chest measures approximately 36".
4. The matching breeches have a three button French Fly with a missing button and a hook with eyelet at the
waist. Six matching buttons are to the exterior of the waist band for the attachment of Y-straps or suspenders. There is a slanted, slash pocket to each hip, and a rear pocket with button flap to the rear. Each cuff bears a pair of matching buttons with corresponding eyelets. The waist measures approximately 32" with a 27.5" breech.
5. The last items include a pair of leg puttees and a single prong, brass buckle, leather belt that measures approximately 5cm x 114cm long. The leather is embossed to the buckle end.
A very nice grouping. The wool is in good condition.
