“Draggin’ Anchor” was U.S. Navy slang for being stationed ashore for too long a period of time. The patch is a play on words
Draggin’ and Dragon. All the personnel assigned to this office were U.S. Navy men, and their job was to collect intelligence on the Japanese Navy and do whatever they could to support U.S. Navy operations in and around mainland China. All known original examples of this patch are embroidered on white Chinese silk. An ultra rare WW2 U.S. Navy patch. The patch measures approximately 10cm in diameter. Included is a black and white photograph copy of a patch being worn.
