C006995 FRENCH FOREIGN LEGION UNIFORM GROUPING.

This grouping consists of a shirt, tunic and trousers. The long sleeve, cotton pull over, shirt has a three button “V” opening that leads to a lay down pointed collar, whose points are held flat via small buttons that match those of the front. A pair of pleated, button flap, breast pockets complete the front of the shirt. Buttons are present to each cuff. All buttons appear to be original to the shirt. The chest measures approximately 46" and 36" long from shoulder to rear hem. TheM35 tunic has a five button front with slash hip pockets with flaps. Handsewn collar insignia is to each point and a hook and eyelet to the neck opening. Integral, button shoulder straps are to each side of the neck. Above the French cuff are chevrons indicating the rank of Sergeant Major. A belt hook is present to each rear, side seam. The interior is fully lined in white cotton/linen that is ink marked. The chest measures approximately 40". Also included, are a pair of matching breeches that have a three button French fly with a large hook and eyelet and a pair of additional buttons at the waist. Six matching buttons and four matching belt loops extend around the waist band of the trousers. A vertical slash pocket is to each hip. The waist measures approximately 38" with a 33.5" breech. There are no laces present to the cuffs. There is some wear to the wool at the front of the trousers. Nice pressed seam.
