BACKGROUND: Warrant Officer Class I was the highest rank obtainable by members of the other ranks and was also associated with the position of Regimental Sergeant Major. The badges were worn on the forearms of service dress, drill uniforms, battle dress and greatcoats. Of Note: The insignia of a Warrant Officer Class I was changed to the Canadian Coat of arms from the British Royal Arms after the Korean War.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A large, khaki wool badge with a raised, embroidered design of the British Coat of Arms. The badge measures approximately 13cm x 14cm. Appears to have been removed from a uniform.
