C006783 CANADIAN MKII "KOREAN WAR VINTAGE" COMBAT HELMET.

BACKGROUND: The standard Canadian Infantry helmet, as used throughout World War II, being a modification of the Mk. I helmet introduced in April of 1916 and used during the First World War. Production of the MK II helmet began in 1938 and the first units were delivered to the armed forces in 1939. The helmet retained its predecessorís shape but improved the steel, liner and chin strap.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Constructed entirely of non-magnetic steel, the basin-shaped helmet, with an all-around visor, retains almost all of its original, green paint to both the exterior and interior. Shell is marked "C.L./ C." (Canadian Lamp Company) and dated for 1942. Complete 1949 Belgian  production dated liner and chinstrap system. Size marked 54.
