C006089 CEF HIGHLANDERS UNIFORM GROUPING.
This grouping consists of a Highland-cut tunic, box pleated kilt with gaiters.
1. A tailored 1903/1913 seven button highland pattern jacket with a stand-up collar with Canadian General List collar insignia. Integral button shoulder straps are to the neck with a pair of brass "Canada" shoulder tiles that are attached via lugs and cotter pin. Pleated breast pockets with scallop buttoned flaps, as well as two hip pockets, also with straight buttoned flaps complete the front. The owner had the tunic tailored to fit like a clove as the inside lower pockets have been removed to allow for the rounded cutaway front skirts. No side hooks or markings. Plain straight cuffs to the sleeves. The chest measures approximately 38". There are some moth holes present. One button has fallen off, but is included.
2. The box pleated wool kilt’s colours are similar to that of the Gordon Highlanders tartan. A pair of leather straps are attached, but only one of the two single prong buckles are attached, but it is included. The waist measures approximately 34" and is 24" long. There are some small moth holes present. Stitching along with waist has pulled free. Tag is present to the interior showing measurements, manufacture and date.
3. A pair of Highland webbed gaiters with mismatched buttons and leather straps. They measure approximately 28cm or 11 inches tall along the back seam. Show wear.
