C005783 VIETNAM USMC OFFICER/SENIOR NCO EQUIPMENT SET.
As with much of the Marine Corps gear of the era, it is a mix of WWII, Korea and Vietnam War, as well as both Marine Corps and Army issue.
The set consists of the following:
- Pistol belt with vertical weave as was issued beginning in the early 1960's.
- .45 M1911 pistol magazine pouch dated 1952
- USMC marked 7 x 35 binoculars with a postwar black case.
- M1938 USMC marked map case dated 1944
- MX-991/U flashlight (Korea/Vietnam issue).
- U.S.N. issue whistle dated 1944.
- M1941 USMC cartridge belt suspenders (Vietnam issue) with WWII army pads.
- M1910 Canteen pouch dated 1945 with a 1945 canteen and cup.
- "Kabar" fighting knife marked "US Camillus NY" with a black leather scabbard.
- M1916 .45 1911 pistol holster dated 1945 that is dyed black according to 1960's regulations.
- M1950 lensatic compass with early pouch that appears in USMC Vietnam era photographs.
- WWII M2 jungle first aid kit dated 1945 with a mix of contents from WWI and Vietnam era.
- 1968 I Corps tactical zone map of Vietnam that has plastic coating. It is folded to fit map case. Of Note: I Corps was the area of operations for much of the Marine Corps Service in Vietnam.
