C005189 M1897 OFFICERS INFANTRY SWORD AND SCABBARD.
A M1897 Infantry sword with honeysuckle cut bowl guard with a grey ribbed shark skin and silver wire bound grip, also shows the Kings Crown with ERVII for King Edward the VII. The blade is manufactured marked for "Hobson & Sons Lexington’s London W". The single fuller, unsharpened blade, has a beautifully etched design to each side that identifies the owner "A.A. Hadley" of the "South Nigeria Volunteer" . The blade ends in a sharp spear point and is approximately 32" or 82cm long. The original washer is still intact. The tan leather wooden scabbard measures approximately 85cm with a split to the wood and leather damage to the rounded end.
