C004296 BRITISH PARACHUTE WINGS FOR THE INDIAN PARACHUTE BRIGADE.

A pair of pale blue heavy thick wings delineated with black cotton threads, white canopy, on original battledress olive wool piece (cut from uniform). As seen on pages 144 145 of the reference book Allied Special Forces Insignia 1939 1948 by Peter Taylor. Worn above the right chest pocket and also on the overseas cap, a practice peculiar to the Indian Parachute Brigade. Scarce wings, field worn, nice! Of Note: Pages 144 145 of the Taylor reference showing many variations of the Indian Parachute Brigade. As Taylor notes, “the wing comes in a number of sizes and variations.” It seems they were made by all sorts of mom and pop shops in India and no two are exactly alike, but most share the same sort of look of heavier pale blue wings and many have a white canopy that is narrower than a full half moon (half globe).
