C003495 BLACK WATCH ROYAL HIGHLANDERS OF CANADA CAPTAIN’S KHAKI SERVICE DRESS.

A khaki Highland cut away tunic with the front cut out and tapered away toward the hips. It has a three 3cm diameter brass button front with lay down collar and integral shoulder straps. Two breast pockets with scalloped flaps, as well as two hip pockets with straight flaps, with curved fronts that follow the lines of the jacket, are present. All buttons are identical to those running to the front. A smaller, flat brass button is also to the front, below the Regimental buttons to keep the front closed and flat. Collar dogs representing the Black Watch are to each collar point. Each shoulder strap has three gilt pips denoting the rank of Captain that are above brass "RHC" shoulder titles. A formation badge for the 1st Canadian Corps is present to each sleeve, just below the shoulder seam. A double prong belt of the same material as the tunic is present that passes through a pair of belt loops. A Canadian Volunteer Service ribbon bar with maple leaf is affixed above the left breast pocket. The Maple Leaf indicating at least 60 days of overseas service. The chest measures approximately 38". The interior is unlined, and bears a cotton name tag sewn to the neckline that is embroidered “G.C. Jarvis”. There is a manufacture tag present for “M. Hebert Ltd. Montreal” along with the name “Lt. G.C. Jarvis” and date “July 22th, 1940". The stitching on the formation badges has become loose, causing the badges to not lay flat on the sleeves. (Ex Taboika Collection)
