C002378 TAM O'SHANTER WITH DICED BAND.

The Balmoral Bonnet, which is known as the Tam o'Shanter, originated in 1915, as a replacement for the Glengarry, to be worn by Scottish troops in combat. A dark blue wool bonnet comprised of a crown with a red coloured wool Touri (pom-pom) to its center and a diced band indicating a "Royal" regiment. The interior is lined in black with a diamond stitched design to the center. The bonnet is in overall good condition showing some moth tracking and moth holes to the crown. It can be seen to the interior that badges were attached to the diced band as there are indentations and holes through the fabric.
