C002295 ROYAL CANADIAN ARTILLERY MAJOR GENERAL UNIFORM GROUPING.
This grouping consists of:
1. A General’s Visor Cap size 55. The leather sweatband has pulled away in a small section along the rear by the seam.
2. A standard khaki service tunic with four button front, lay down collar and integral shoulder straps. Two breast pockets with scallop button flaps and two large patch pockets complete the front. To each shoulder strap are badges that represent the rank of Major General along with a "Canada" brass shoulder tile. It appears that one of the rank badges was removed as there are holes to each strap. A pair of “General” collar tabs are sewn to each point of the collar. A shoulder flash for 1st Canadian Army Group, Royal Artillery is to each arm. Overseas bars are present above the left cuff. A WWI , three place ribbon bar is above the left breast that represents the British 1914-1915 Star, The British Warm Medal 1914-1918 and the Victory Medal 1914-1919. Brass belt hooks are to each side seam. The interior is fully lined with a manufacture tag of “Warren K. Cook” to the outside of the breast pocket, while the interior tag has been partially cut away. The chest measures approximately 38". A khaki lanyard is included, as well as a Canadian artillery brassard with maple leaf badge.
3. The matching service trousers have a pleated front, metal zipper, buttons at the waist, along with a hook and eyelet. Six matching buttons extend the outside of the waistband that allow for the attachment of suspenders. The waist measures approximately 31" with a 29" inseam.
4. A long sleeve, cotton shirt with five mis-matched, out of the original six, buttons to the front. There are a pair of breast pockets, with only one button to the flaps, button cuffs, and epaulets. A manufacture tag for “Deacon Military Outfitters” is to the interior. The shirt is heavily wrinkled. Included is a 116cm long neck tie.
5. A 115cm long Sam Browne belt with cross strap and a pair of Navy blue wool puttees.
