C001589 HUNGARIAN PARATROOPER DOCUMENT.

Only known example of an achievement award to a Hungarian paratrooper with the unique Hungarian Paratrooper Badge image featured at the top of the document. Issued at Papa, Hungary (the headquarters and parachute training facility of the Hungarian paratrooper battalion) on Majus 27, 1942 (May 27, 1942). The name of the recipient has been partially removed. There was only one Hungarian paratrooper battalion, and it fought on the German side in World War II. After the communist takeover of the country in 1945, men who had fought with the Germans usually destroyed their uniforms and documents to avoid reprisals. Extraordinarily rare award document for professional achievement to a Hungarian paratrooper or jump school trainer, excellent for display with Hungarian paratrooper items. Document measures approximately 30.5cm x 21cm.
