BACKGROUND
: Created on November 21, 1941, it’s intention was to commemorate the First World War service of General of the Armies, John J. Pershing, but also to due to the tensions with Germany between 1939 and 1941. It was awarded to those who served in the European Occupation on garrison duty in Germany or Austria-Hungry between 1918 and 1923 following the First World War.PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A die-struck metal alloy medal measuring approximately 33mm in diameter that is suspended by blue, red, white and black silk ribbon with original hinge pin to the reverse.
