L014295 "GENERAL GÖRING" REGIMENT NCO'S CUFFTITLE. (Ärmelstreiffen) 

BACKGROUND: Cufftitles bearing Göring’s name can be traced back to December 1933 with the introduction of the "L.P.G. General Göring" cufftitle issued to personnel when the, Landes Polizei Gruppe Wecke z.b.V, was renamed Landes Polizei Gruppe General Göring. On September 23RD 1935 Landes Polizei Gruppe General Göring was transferred from control of the Police to control of the Luftwaffe and was renamed, Regiment General Göring which resulted in a "General Göring" cufftitle being introduced on March 12TH 1936 as a "special badge of distinction" for members of the regiment. 

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Nice quality, deep navy blue doeskin wool construction cufftitle with hand embroidered Gothic script, "General Göring" in heavy silvery/grey cotton threads. The cufftitle is bordered at both the top and bottom edges in horizontal silvery/grey Russian braiding. Of Note: On May 22ND 1942 a final pattern cufftitle bearing Göring’s name was introduced for wear by all ranks of personnel serving with Reinforced Regiment (mot.) Hermann Göring and the "General Göring" cufftitle was to be replaced by August 1942. Uniform removed. Glue spots to the reverse indicating it was most probably in a scrap book at some point. This exact example is published in "General Goring" cufftitle (pages 141 and 142 of "German Military Cuffbands 1784-Present" by Williamson and McGuirl.
