Reference Book on WW2 German Paratroopers. Fallschirmjäger Bildband und Chronik by Rudolf Böhmler, published by Podzun-Verlag of Bad Nauheim, 1961. This is one of the first German reference books about the Fallschirmjäger, with the rarely-found original dust jacket intact (in a removable Brodart Mylar cover to protect it). Contains over 400 photograph of the Fallschirmjäger and 12 maps, an essential reference for the history and uniforms of the German paratroopers in WW2. The author, Rudolf Böhmler (1914 - 1968) was a highly decorated Oberst in the Fallschirmjäger during World War II and a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The book was originally owned by a former German paratrooper named Robert Wüelf, a veteran of the III Battalion of Fallschirmjäger Regiment 3 (FJD1 Heidrich and Heilman) who was at Monte Cassino, and later assigned to Fallschirmjäger Regiment 15 (FJD5 Gröeschke), inscribed him. Hard-to-find book in superb condition, a must for every Fallschirmjäger reference library. The book was printed in Germany in 1961, measures approximately 15.5cm x 21.5cm and consists of 498 pages.
