L005994 EM/NCO'S LONG PANTS. (Lange Hose) 

BACKGROUND: The long pants were the basic standard issue pants for all EM/NCO’s with flight personnel also being issued the Flyer’s pants and mounted personnel being issued the Riding breeches. The straight legged long pants for EM/NCO’s were the prescribed or optional type of pants for wear with the Service Dress, the Undress Uniform, the Reporting and the Parade dress uniforms. 

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Standard issue, Luftwaffe blue/grey wool/rayon blend construction EM/NCO’s long pants feature a vertical, five button French fly with an additional button at the waistband. The pants have two diagonally angled, slash front pockets with single button closures and a small horizontal slash watch pocket to the right side of the fly below the waistband. The waistband has eight evenly spaced vertical belt loops with four to the front and four to the reverse. Two of the reverse belt loops are situated at the center with vertically extended fabric tabs with dual buttons to each for attaching suspenders. The reverse of the pants have a horizontal slash pocket with a single button closure to the right seat. The reverse of the pants also have two small vertical tapering darts and two horizontal fit adjustment straps with corresponding, blued, sheet metal, gripper buckles. The straight cut cuffs have a small vertical tapering dart to both the obverse and the reverse and a small vertical outside seam slash. The waistband lining is well marked with black inkstamped "L.B.A." Luftwaffenbekleidungsamt (Air Force clothing depot). Original owner tag still present. The four interior suspender buttons are missing. The buttons are molded bakelite types and look to have their original stitching. The pants are roughly size 30" waist. Textbook!
