L004695 FLIGHT OBERLEUTNANT'S WHITE SUMMER TUNIC. (Sommerrock)

BACKGROUND: A white summer tunic was authorized for wear buy Officer’s and senior NCO’s between April 1ST and September 30TH annually. The tunic followed the basic design and cut as the 1935 pattern service tunic.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Ribbed white cotton constructed tunic with a four button, opened neck, front closure with small fold back lapels and lay down collar. Tunic has two pleated patch breast pockets with scalloped button down flaps. Tunic also has two pleated patch hip pockets with with scalloped button down flaps. The original metal Luftwaffe eagle is included (Assmann production). Collar tabs are lightly thread tacked on in each corner and you can see where another pair of tabs had been sewn on previously. Nice pair of slip on boards. Awards loops for three badges. All the buttons are the silver washed, pebbled, alloy/sheet metal with some original and some replaced stitching. Several sewing repairs. Tunic roughly size 40" chest.
