


L004394 OFFICER'S WHITE SUMMER TUNIC. (Weisser Rock neuer Art)
BACKGROUND: The new pattern white summer tunic introduced on July 9TH 1937 to replace the earlier Reichswehr pattern white summer tunic. These white summer tunics were an optional uniform item for Officer’s and were only intended to be worn between April 1ST and September 30TH, as a walking out uniform, Informal dress, or for viewing or participating in certain sporting events.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Ribbed white cotton constructed tunic with a four button, opened neck, front closure with small fold back lapels and lay down collar. Tunic has two inverted pleat patch breast pockets with scalloped button down flaps. Tunic also has two diagonally angled slash hip pockets with curved forward edge button down flaps. Simulated French cuffs. Right breast has two small holes where a metal breast eagle was removed. Awards loops for ribbon bars and a couple of badges remain. Sew on shoulder boards, collar tabs and a cufftitle have been removed. All the buttons are the silver washed, pebbled, alloy/sheet metal type. Tunic roughly size 36" chest.
