BACKGROUND: Work/drill uniforms utilized during the Reichsmarine period continued in use in the Kriegsmarine until late 1935 or early 1936 when a new pattern was introduced.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Green cotton/rayon blend construction work/drill tunic with an HBT weave. Tunic features a five button front closure with an open lay down collar. Tunic has two, non-pleated, patch hip pockets with non-flapped horizontal slash openings. Sleeves have straight cut, non-adjustable cuffs. Tunic has no insignia and no evidence of any ever having been applied. Lack of insignia indicates usage by enlisted personnel, as per regulations. Front closure buttons are the field-grey painted, stamped alloy type with an embossed fouled anchor on a pebbled background field with a raised outer rim. The front has come off one button, but is included. Buttons are the removable type with "S" ring retainers and retain all of their original field-grey paint. Roughly a size 36" chest.
