K002193 SOLDIER'S & OFFICIAL'S CIVILIAN CLOTHING LAPEL PIN. (Aufschlagnadel)
BACKGROUND: Regulations of April 28TH 1934 introduced a distinctive identifying lapel pin for optional wear on the left lapel of civilian clothing by all actively serving Wehrmacht and official's personnel. The design of the lapel pins was identical for all three branches of service, but they were produced with a silver finish for Heer and Luftwaffe personnel and a gilt finish for Kriegsmarine personnel.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Nice quality, fire gilted, die struck, soldier’s and official’s civilian clothing lapel pin in the form of a Wehrmacht style eagle with down-swept wings clutching a canted swastika in its talons. The eagle shows nice detailing to its wings and breast and intricate cut-outs between its wings, legs and the arms of the swastika. The fire gilted finish is fully retained with minor age dulling. The solid reverse has its soldered vertical, rifled stickpin intact. Unmarked example. Attractive lapel pin and hard to find in the KM coloration.
