(Kommandoflagge eines Konteradmirals )BACKGROUND: Following an age old military tradition the German armed forces of the Third Reich utilized a wide variety of identifying flags and pennants to distinguish Officers and Headquarters and included specific command flags and pennants. Naval regional commands, which encompassed large regions, were sub-divided and commanded by a Generaladmiral or an Admiral. Each squadron organized by type of ship and also had a command structure with it’s own flag officer.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A double sided, printed white constructed flag with a narrow Iron Cross. The bunting is marked "Kont-Adm 150 x 150". Shows heavy period use and wear.
