J014493 OFFICER'S CANTEEN.
A small, aluminum canteen, in the form of a vertical oval, 5.5cm x 12cm x 20cm, including its stepped neck. The opening is covered by a brown leather cap that I am unable to remove. This cover is marked "49/192/1001". The canteen has a make shift cover using what appears to be a sleeve of a knitted sweater or possibly a sock. The body has numerous dents, especially to the bottom. The reverse of the canteen is somewhat hollowed-out. A leather cord is tied around the neck. No visible markings.
