J014393 (IJA) TYPE 98 (MEIJI ERA) CANTEEN.
A olive-drab painted, aluminum 540ml canteen with leather harness, and a cork stopper with aluminum cap and eyelet. The leather strap that would have extended through the eyelet to the body via buckles is tied through the eyelet. It can be seen where the strap was originally attached to the body. The leather is a bit dry, causing the carrying strap to be a bit fragile. The aluminum canteen shows typical surface wear. Of Note: This model of canteen is also known as the "Sake Bottle Canteen".
