A pair of stiffened, black wool shoulder boards featuring a golden tress stripe and two silver metal alloy "pips" in the shape of a five petal cherry blossom are sewn to the black wool background with a brass Naval button to one end. The reverse is covered with a leather that has a metal alloy slider attached.
