J004489 (IJA) M98 (1938) LIEUTENANT COLONEL’S SERVICE TUNIC.

A high quality, partially-lined, private purchase service tunic constructed from olive drab colored cloth. Its single-breasted front closure has five, flat buttons to it, each of which are of gold/brass-colored metal, single hooks and eye at the throat, and all five original collar liner attachment studs. Matching red wool tabs representing the rank of Lieutenant Colonel are hand stitched on each side of the collar. Two button-down pocket flaps and two unbuttoned, straight pocket flaps are to the hips. False French cuffs. Original owners name tag to the interior. A few period repairs and there are a few holes on the reverse of the tunic. Approximately a size 36. There is a red stain above the left facing hip pocket.
