BACKGROUND: Send-off parades were organized for soldiers on their way to the local railway station by community organizations, with the participants carrying banners ("nobori"), suspended from vertical poles, each with the name of a specific recruit to them.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Silk example that measures approximately 59cm x 168cm. Original 70cm long metal bar is complete with hanging cord. Only one of the original two tassels are present.
