An Imperial Japanese Seamanís visor cap, first introduced in 1905 and used until the end of the Second World War. The four-piece body, in the same color and material, has seams at each of its cardinal points, with two metal grommet ventilation holes under each side of the crown. Seamanís oval cap badge comprised of a gilt alloy anchor surrounded by a rope, affixed by threads to a dark blue wool backing cloth. The cap has its original chinstrap, finished in black, with dual adjustment sliders, fixed over each ear by gilt-washed alloy buttons with embossed anchors and cherry blossoms to them. Black leather visor. Complete liner. Very nice issue tag which is completely filled in. Leather sweatband is worn and used but all complete. Some mothing to the bottom edge of the cap. Approximately size 56. Shows age, use and period wear. Comes with its original meal storage case.
