J001794 (IJA) "HOME FRONT BATTLE WEAR" TUNIC.

"Kesenfuku" or "home front battle wear" were the last model of Japanese uniform, produced in 1945, being typified by their courser material and lack of hip pockets. This unfinished, heavy, partially lined, dark olive drab wool tunic features two breast pockets and a single-breasted front closure with five buttons( that are not attached, but are included) leading to a lay-down collar. The horizontal slash breast pockets have scalloped, button-down flaps, with buttons missing. The left side of the tunic waist has a vertical, button-down strap, in the same material as the tunic and without a button. This strap added extra support to the bayonet when being worn. The interior is lined, in cotton, along its shoulders and back, and to both front panels, where there are horizontal slash pockets near their bases. Roughly a 36-37" chest. Pristine.
