WWII Japanese infantry combat helmet with a cover. The shell, constructed from chrome molybend steel, retains 95% of its olive drab paint. Lightly stamped along its rear interior apron is the kanji character for size "large". Nice complete liner and chinstrap. Over the entirety of the helmet’s exterior is fitted the standard 2nd pattern padded cover, issued to Japanese Army troops after 1943. Its khaki-colored, water-resistant cloth exterior is comprised of six machine sewn pieces, meeting at the apex of the crown and gathered along their tunnel-looped base by an adjustable tie string. A yellow wool, five-pointed IJA star and round wool backing is machine sewn to the front of the cover. Cover has excellent markings. Nice set.
