J000994 (IJA) INFANTRY "TYPE 30" BAYONET.

Type 30 bayonet, with a blued, flat sided, contoured bird's head pommel and button release. Wooden grips are fixed with two rivets. The late war, blued, straight, contoured double cross guard has a flat tip to one end and a circular muzzle guide to the other. The 15 1/2" fullered blade retains about most of its original bluing. The second pattern sheet metal scabbard with-out a ball tip. The maker's mark to the ricasso is that of the Hikari Seiki Arsenal. Original frog.
