A 14cm x 9cm, portrait photo of German troops in
tropical uniform. Squad of German troops in humorous type portrait wearing the
tropical pith helmet and tropical uniforms in training for deployment to the
Middle East. A posed photo with a horse-drawn cart as a prop, with a sign
bearing the inscription “Flucht aus Munster 1917” (Escape from Munster
1917). The four sewn loops for attaching the Imperial colonial eagle to the
front of the pith helmet can be seen clearly on all the helmets. One man in a
fatigue uniform is wearing a straw fez. Photographer’s logo on reverse.
