A 15cm x 9cm, Austrian pilot’s
portrait. Very rare studio portrait of a decorated Austrian officer pilot in
dress uniform wearing the Austrian Pilot’s Badge, and Turkish War Medal (The
“Gallipoli Star” or Harp Madalyası in Turkish) on his right breast, the
German Iron Cross Second Class through a buttonhole, and a medal bar in the
Austrian style with three or four mounted medals. On his collars he is wearing
the Austro-Hungarian Balloon Corp Collar Insignia. Only a handful of Austrian
pilots served in the Turkish theater of the war. Photo has been removed from an
album. This is an extremely rare photographic image.
