A WW1 era, 13cm x 8.5cm studio portrait of a Prussian infantry soldier with steel pickelhaube and full combat equipment. For a very short time, the standard pickelhaube was made from metal instead of leather to protect the head from shell fragments until the stahlhelm was introduced. Razor sharp focus and crystal clear image of soldier with rifle, full backpack and gasmask.
