PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A group consisting of three identical black and white cards measuring approximately 5cm x 10cm. The front states his name; Joh. Winklbauer, as well as, his date of death, 9. Mai 1915 at the age of 21 years old. Below that inscription there is a prayer. The reverse of the cards shows a foil design with the quote "In the Cross is there healing." Listed in the regiments history 4 Jahre Westfront RIR 16. Battle of Bassée and Arras 9-5/23-7-1915 and Fromelles 9/10-5-1915Each shows varying degrees of age and wear.
