A set of 3 Shipwreck Photos from the world-famous Samoa Cyclone of 1889. This storm made headlines all around the world, and wrecked and sank more than a dozen major ships, including seven U.S., British and German warships which were in Apia harbor when the cyclone hit. On thin period paper in excellent condition, with research. All three photos were developed and printed within a year of the disaster, circa 1890. Also included is a photograph that has a caption reading "Auermadchen von Maron" measuring approximately 8cm x 14cm.
