BACKGROUND: The drinking mug, first introduced in 1893, was standard kit for all German foot soldiers and was produced until the end of the war in 1918. The standard production size for these was 1/4 Liters. All issue example have two indents Impressed into the side of the cup to use as a quick measuring device.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Nice condition example. Tin construction with enamel coating and feldgrau paint used in the final finishing process. Cup retains at least 95% of its original finish with the expected wear areas around the opening lip and handle. Bottom of the cup retains its original makers mark "F.C.B. FULDA 18" (1918) in black ink. Very respectable example of this essential piece of soldiers kit.
