A 9cm x 10cm glass plate slide for use in projectors called "magic lanterns", forerunners of the slide projector. Photograph depicts a German colonial camp scene in German East Africa, with the German flag flying above a two-man tent for officers in the bush. In the foreground is a native Askari camp servant wearing a red Tarbusch or Fez. The paper label reads "Boy in Front of the Safari Tent".
