G006290 M1915 HUSSAR REGIMENT VON ZIETEN (BRANDENBURG) NO. 3" BUSBY.

DESCRIPTION: Model 1915 Preußen (Prussian) issued Pelzmütze (literally: fur hat AKA busby) for Husaren (hussar) regiments. Tight black-dyed seal skin and hair stretched over a frame of bamboo on the upper half backed in an off-white corrugated stiffened burlap. Bottom half is dark green oilcloth. All grey-oxidized steel fittings with near-mint original leather liner.Complete with original Prussian Feldzeichen. This piece has two textbook ink stamps in the liner: one issue stamp on the facing side identifying the 3. Hussar Regiment and one on the reverse of the liner for the III Armee Korps Rathenau, the parent unit of the 3. Hussars. These are the textbook stamps you want to see in this busby. All original components in superb condition including the bandeau, chinstrap, Prussian cockade on the wearer’s right side, and original liner. The Hussar Regiment von Zieten Nr. 3 was a hussar regiment of the Prussian Army and later of the Imperial German Army, founded in 1730 and named after its first colonel, Hans Joachim von Zieten. Size is approximately 62.
