Jäger (Light Infantry) mutze. This cap is made and manufactured from a low quality felt. Top cockade is missing its original prongs and has been sewn to the cap. Roughly a size 54/55. Sweatband is now missing. Liner may be an original removed from a dress cap. Perfect for living history re enactment, film industry or to fill a hole in a collection until you can obtain and original.

Note from the consignor. "The cap was one of six identical caps, all from a Herman Historica auction in 1989. All mint condition. They were described as pertaining to a veterans' organisation. All the caps had the same liners, pointing to a special run by the named manufacturer. They were not made with sweat bands. I suspect they were made for a special re-union or meeting for a Jaeger unit veterans' group. Thus the bright green colour. I speculate proper wool would have made the caps too expensive for what was likely a one-off occasion."
